Caitlin McColl has been writing stories as soon as she learned how to read and write. As a young girl and in her teenage years she wrote many short stories, mostly fantasy - with dragons and wizards and other fantastical monsters.
She still loves fantasy and in her most recent works, Under A Starlit Sky (to be published 2011), All About Eve, its prelude, and her upcoming novel The Clockwork Universe, all involve aspects of fantasy or the supernatural, mixed in with our real world - no dragons or fairies or wizards here!
Yet...something slightly different. A different perspective. Something that makes our world, the one that we can see around us, just a little bit more interesting and exciting, with the ability to mask the humdrum days we all have - those cold, grey, rainy, depressing days. The days you have to get up extra early for work, and battle morning rush hour. The days you accidentally sleep in, lock yourself out of the house and realize your still wearing your slippers.
With fantasy injected into stories involving our world (your world), it makes it easier to imagine yourself there. Because they, the characters, are normal, down-to-earth people just like yourself - but something is...different.
Author of 2 novels Under A Starlit Sky and the upcoming sequel, a work in progress, the steampunk adventure, The Clockwork Universe.
Little Gods - a short approx. 7000 word humorous fantasy story
From The Ashes - a short approx 5000 word steampunk/alternate world fantasy story.
The Jade Dragonfly (& other short stories) - Four short mystery stories involving two Detectives, seasoned old-school Thomas McCloud, and fresh-faced, excitable young Johnny Lattley.
